Your document
Your document is converted on this device. It’s never uploaded, so it stays private.
How it works
-
Choose your document
Drop a DOCX file or pick one from your device, up to 50 MB. It’s read right here, in your browser.
-
Check the preview
Your pages appear at their real size, with their margins, headers and footers, exactly as they’ll be in the PDF.
-
Save as PDF
Click Save as PDF, then choose “Save as PDF” in the print window. On a phone, the print options let you save or share the PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Is my document uploaded?
No. The conversion happens entirely in your browser: the document is read on your device and never sent to our server or anyone else.
Will the PDF look exactly like in Word?
Very close. Text, styles, lists, tables, pictures, headers and footers are kept, and each page follows the paper size and margins of your document. Fonts that aren’t installed on your device are replaced by similar ones, which can move a line or two to the next page. Charts and SmartArt graphics aren’t included.
Which files can I convert?
Word documents in the .docx format (also .docm and .dotx), up to 50 MB. For an older .doc file, an .rtf or an .odt, open it in Word, LibreOffice or Google Docs, save it as .docx, then convert the new file.
How do I get the PDF file?
Click Save as PDF: your browser’s print window opens with your pages. Choose “Save as PDF” as the destination. On an iPhone or iPad, tap the share button in the print options; on Android, pick “Save as PDF” as the printer.
Can I convert a password-protected document?
No. Remove the password in Word first, save the document, then convert it.
Can I convert a PDF back to Word?
Not with this tool. To reuse the text of a PDF, our PDF to text tool extracts it directly in your browser.
