Code to read

What the code holds

The content appears here. Nothing opens on its own: you decide what to do with it.

How it works

  1. Add the code

Drop or paste a screenshot or a photo, or tap Scan with the camera and point it at the code.

  2. See what’s inside

Links, Wi-Fi networks, contacts, emails, phone numbers and product codes are recognized and laid out clearly. Every code in the image is read.

  3. Decide what to do

Copy the content, save the contact, join the network, or open the link once you’ve checked the address. Nothing opens by itself.

Frequently asked questions

Is my image or camera sent anywhere?

No. The image and the camera picture are analyzed in your browser, by a reader that runs on your device. Nothing is uploaded, and the camera stops as soon as a code is read or you leave the page.

Why doesn’t the link open by itself?

Because a QR code can hide a fraudulent address, a scam known as “quishing”. The scanner shows the site name first and flags signs of imitation, such as a fake name placed before an “@” or look-alike letters. You open the link yourself, and only if you trust it.

Which codes can it read?

QR codes (including Micro QR), Data Matrix, Aztec and PDF417, plus barcodes: EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, ITF, Codabar and GS1 DataBar. Several codes in the same image are all read.

The camera doesn’t start. What can I do?

The first time, your browser asks for permission: choose Allow. If you refused earlier, change it in the site settings, usually behind the icon next to the address bar. Another app using the camera can also block it. In every case, you can take a photo or a screenshot and choose it as an image.

It says no code was found. Why?

The code may be blurry, too small, cut off or poorly lit. Get closer so the code fills more of the picture, keep a little blank margin around it and avoid reflections. A badly damaged code can’t always be recovered.

How do I scan a QR code that’s on my screen?

Take a screenshot, then paste it here with Ctrl+V or drop the file. On a phone, save the screenshot and choose it as an image.

Install One For All on your computer

One For All then opens in its own window, like an app, straight from your desktop or home screen. Nothing to download from a store, and your files still stay on your device.

  1. Click the install icon at the right of the address bar, or open the browser menu (⋮).
  2. Choose “Install One For All” or “Install page as app”: a shortcut is added to your desktop and your apps.

Download this tool’s engine?

This tool works entirely in your browser. To do that, it needs to download the items below from One For All, just once. They are then kept on this device, so next time the tool starts right away.

Your files are never sent anywhere.
