Your contact details

Name

Phone, email and website
Address

Optional. Every field you fill in makes the code denser, so keep it short.

Style

4

The blank border scanners need around the code. Keep at least 2; 4 is the standard.

Error correction

Higher levels survive scratches and smudges, but make the code denser. Low or medium suits a contact card.

Preview

Your contact code appears here as soon as you fill in a field.

Test it before you print: point your phone’s camera at the screen.

How it works

  1. Fill in your details

Enter only what you want to share: a name and a phone number or an email are enough.

  2. Test the code

Scan the preview with your phone: it should offer to create a new contact with your details.

  3. Download it

Save the code as PNG or SVG for your business card, email signature or slides, or download the .vcf contact file.

Frequently asked questions

What happens when someone scans the code?

The phone’s camera recognizes a contact card and offers to save it. On iPhone and most Android phones, it opens a new contact already filled in with your details.

Are my details stored anywhere?

No. The code and the .vcf file are created in your browser, and nothing you type is sent to a server. The details are written inside the code itself, so anyone who scans it can read them.

Why does the code get denser as I type?

Every detail is stored in the code, so more text means more modules. Small dense codes are harder to scan when printed: keep the note short and print the code at least 2 cm (about 1 inch) wide.

Can I change my details after printing?

No. The details are part of the printed code. If your number or email changes, create a new code.

What is the .vcf file?

It’s the same contact card as a file (vCard 3.0). You can attach it to an email or import it into Outlook, Gmail, iCloud and most address books.

Do accents and other alphabets work?

Yes. Names and addresses are encoded in UTF-8, so accented letters and scripts such as Arabic, Chinese or Cyrillic are read correctly by modern phones.

Install One For All on your computer

One For All then opens in its own window, like an app, straight from your desktop or home screen. Nothing to download from a store, and your files still stay on your device.

  1. Click the install icon at the right of the address bar, or open the browser menu (⋮).
  2. Choose “Install One For All” or “Install page as app”: a shortcut is added to your desktop and your apps.

Download this tool’s engine?

This tool works entirely in your browser. To do that, it needs to download the items below from One For All, just once. They are then kept on this device, so next time the tool starts right away.

Your files are never sent anywhere.
