Frequently asked questions
Does cropping reduce the quality?
The pixels you keep are copied at full resolution, so the crop stays as sharp as the original. Saving as JPG, WebP or AVIF compresses again: keep the quality around 90 or choose PNG for a lossless copy.
How do I crop a photo to a square?
Choose 1:1 in Aspect ratio. The frame becomes the largest square that fits, centered. Drag it to frame your subject, then download.
Can I crop to an exact size in pixels?
Yes. Type the width and height, and the distance from the left and top edges, in the Frame in pixels fields. With a fixed ratio, the height follows the width.
Can I crop without a mouse?
Yes. Tab to the crop frame and use the arrow keys to move it. Tab to a handle to move that edge or corner. Hold Shift for steps ten times bigger.
Is my image uploaded?
No. The image is opened, cropped and saved in your browser. It never leaves your device, and the new file doesn’t carry over GPS location or camera details.
