Short links need a free account
A short link has to be stored somewhere to keep working, so this tool saves your links in a free account. It takes a minute to create one.
- Short, hard-to-guess links, or your own ending like /l/summer-sale
- An optional last day, click limit or password
- Daily clicks, sources, devices and countries, without tracking anyone
How it works
-
Paste your long link
Copy the address you want to share and paste it in the form. You can choose your own ending, or keep the random one.
-
Copy the short link
Your short link is ready right away. Share it in a message, a post, an email or on paper.
-
Follow the clicks
Open the link in your account to see clicks per day, where they came from and which devices were used. You can pause, edit or delete it at any time.
Frequently asked questions
Is this URL shortener really free?
Yes. Creating short links, custom endings and statistics are free. You only need a free account, because your links have to be stored to keep working.
What do you record when someone clicks my link?
Only counters per day: the number of clicks, the referring website’s domain, the device type, the browser family and, when our network provider tells us, the country. We never store IP addresses, cookies or anything that could identify a visitor.
Can I change where a short link goes?
Yes. Open the link in your account and change its destination. The short address stays the same, so links you already shared keep working.
Can a short link stop working on its own?
Only if you want it to. You can set a last day, a maximum number of clicks or a password, and pause the link whenever you like. Without these settings, it keeps working until you delete it.
Which addresses can’t be shortened?
Only web addresses starting with http:// or https:// are accepted. Local network addresses, addresses that already point to our site and destinations on our safety blocklist are refused, to protect the people who click.
Why do some visitors see a confirmation page before being redirected?
To protect them against phishing. During the first 30 days of your account, visitors see the destination and confirm it before going there. After that, they go straight to it. If you later change a link’s destination to another site, visitors confirm the new destination for 7 days.
