Frequently asked questions
How precise is this stopwatch?
It shows hundredths of a second and measures time with your device’s high-resolution clock, so it never drifts, even when the display refreshes less often or the tab is in the background. In practice, your own reaction when you press the button matters far more than the clock.
How do laps work?
Each time you press Lap, the stopwatch records the time since the previous lap and the total since the start, without stopping. From two laps on, the fastest and slowest are marked, and the average lap is shown under the list.
Can I export my laps?
Yes. Copy puts the table on your clipboard, ready to paste into a spreadsheet or a message. Download CSV saves a file with each lap time and total, both as readable times and in seconds, which most spreadsheets open directly.
Does it keep running if I switch tabs?
Yes. Because the time is calculated from the clock rather than counted, it is still exact when you come back. While it runs, the screen stays on if your browser allows it. Reloading or closing the page resets it.
Which keyboard shortcuts can I use?
Space starts and stops, L records a lap, R resets and F switches full screen on or off. They are ignored while you type in a field.
Are my times sent anywhere?
No. The stopwatch runs entirely in your browser and your laps are never sent to a server. They disappear when you reset or leave the page.
