Recording on a phone
Phones don’t let websites record the screen, but they have a recorder built in.

Open Control Center by swiping down from the top-right corner, then tap the Screen Recording button. A long press on it lets you turn the microphone on. The video is saved in Photos.
-
Android
Swipe down twice from the top of the screen to open Quick Settings, then tap Screen record. If you don’t see it, edit the tiles to add it. The video is saved in your gallery.
To record a computer screen, open this page on a computer with Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.
This browser can’t record the screen. Try a recent version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on a computer.

Frequently asked questions
Is my recording uploaded anywhere?
No. Your browser records the video into its own memory, or straight into a file on your computer if you choose that option. Nothing is sent to our servers, and there’s no account and no watermark.
Why isn’t the sound of my computer recorded?
Browsers decide what sound they share. Chrome and Edge can record the sound of a tab, and of the entire screen on Windows and ChromeOS: tick “Share audio” in the sharing window. Firefox and Safari don’t record the screen’s sound at all, only your microphone.
How do I record myself with my webcam?
Tick “Show my webcam in a bubble”. Your webcam opens in a small floating window that stays above your other windows. Record your entire screen and the bubble is part of the video. It doesn’t appear when you record a single window or tab, because it isn’t inside them.
MP4 or WebM: which file will I get?
Your browser records in MP4 when it can, as recent versions of Chrome, Edge and Safari do, and in WebM otherwise, as Firefox does. Most players open both. If you need an MP4 from a WebM file, use our video converter, which also works on your device.
Is there a time limit?
No limit is set. In Chrome and Edge, turn on “Save directly to a file” for long sessions: the video is written to your disk as it is recorded. In other browsers, the recording is kept in memory, so stop it within an hour or so on most computers.
Can I record my screen on a phone?
Not from a website: phones don’t allow it. Use the built-in recorder instead. On iPhone and iPad, it’s the Screen Recording button in Control Center. On Android, it’s Screen record in Quick Settings.
