Frequently asked questions
Is the HTML safe to paste into my website?
The HTML is cleaned with DOMPurify before you copy it: scripts, event handlers and javascript: links are removed, so a Markdown file from someone else can’t slip harmful code into your page.
Which Markdown features are supported?
Headings, bold, italic, links, images, lists, quotes, code blocks and horizontal rules. With GitHub style turned on, you also get tables, task lists, strikethrough and automatic links.
Why are images not shown in the preview?
Images hosted on other websites are not loaded in the preview, so nothing is fetched from another server while you write. They are still in the HTML you copy or download, and will display normally where you publish it.
What does “Line break = new line” do?
In standard Markdown, a single line break inside a paragraph is ignored and you need a blank line to start a new paragraph. With this option, each line break becomes a visible new line, as in GitHub comments.
Is my text uploaded?
No. The conversion and the preview happen entirely in your browser, and files you open are read on your device.
