How are words counted in Chinese, Japanese or Thai?
These languages don’t separate words with spaces, so the counter uses your browser’s built-in language rules to find word boundaries. The result matches how a native reader would split the text.
Are emoji and accented letters counted as one character?
Yes. Each visible character counts as one, including emoji, accented letters and characters from any script.
How is reading time calculated?
Reading time assumes an average silent reading speed of 238 words per minute. Speaking time assumes 150 words per minute, a typical pace for presentations.
What are AI tokens?
