How it works
-
Open your photo
Drop a photo, choose it, or paste it. Faces are looked for right away, on your device.
-
Check the areas
Each face gets an area. Drag on the photo to add one, for a licence plate or a name tag, and remove any you don’t need.
-
Pick the effect and download
Choose blur or pixels, the strength and the shape, then download the photo at full resolution.
Frequently asked questions
Is my photo uploaded to find the faces?
No. Face detection uses MediaPipe Face Detector, an open source model from Google under the Apache 2.0 licence, which runs inside your browser. The photo never leaves your device.
What if a face was missed?
Automatic detection can miss faces that are very small, turned away, or partly hidden. Always check the photo, then drag on it to add an area wherever something should be hidden.
Can someone undo the blur?
The areas are rebuilt from a handful of pixels, so the detail is really gone from the file you download. At a low strength, though, a face can stay recognisable: use a higher strength for real anonymity.
Can I blur other things, like licence plates?
Yes. Drag on the photo to draw an area over anything: plates, house numbers, documents or screens. Choose the rectangle shape for those.
Is the photo’s location data removed too?
Yes. The downloaded file is a new image without the original EXIF data, so GPS location, dates and camera details are left out.
