Your numbers
Leave empty to see only the fuel needed.
Splits the total evenly.
L/100 km counts fuel per distance, while km/L and MPG count distance per fuel. They are reciprocals: when one goes up, the other goes down, so converting means dividing a constant by the value.

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate the fuel cost of a trip?
Multiply the distance by the consumption and divide by 100 to get the liters needed, then multiply by the price per liter. For 300 km at 6 L/100 km and 1.80 per liter: 300 × 6 ÷ 100 = 18 L, and 18 × 1.80 = 32.40.
How do I convert L/100 km to MPG?
Divide 235.215 by the L/100 km value for US MPG, or 282.481 for UK MPG. For example, 8 L/100 km is about 29.4 MPG (US) or 35.3 MPG (UK). The same division works the other way round.
Why are US and UK MPG different?
Because the gallons are different. A US gallon is 3.785411784 liters and a UK (imperial) gallon is 4.54609 liters, so the same car shows about 20 % more miles per gallon in UK MPG than in US MPG.
How do I measure my car’s real fuel consumption?
Fill the tank completely and reset the trip counter. At the next fill-up, fill it completely again and note the distance driven and the fuel added. Divide the fuel by the distance and multiply by 100 to get L/100 km.
Which currency does the calculator use?
Any currency. Enter the price per liter or per gallon in your own currency, and the costs are shown in that same currency, rounded to two decimals.
Is anything I enter saved or sent?
No. Every calculation happens in your browser, and nothing is stored once you close the page.
