Frequently asked questions
How do I convert HEX to RGB?
Type or paste the HEX code, with or without the #, and the RGB value appears straight away. Each pair of HEX digits is one channel: red, green and blue from 00 to FF, which is 0 to 255 in RGB.
What is OKLCH and why use it?
OKLCH describes a color by lightness, chroma (colorfulness) and hue, in a way that matches how people perceive color. Changing only the lightness keeps the color looking like the same hue, which makes it great for building shades and design systems. Modern browsers support it in CSS.
Is the CMYK value ready for printing?
It’s a mathematical conversion without an ICC print profile, so it’s a good starting point but not a press-ready value. Printers use profiles that depend on the paper and the press. Ask your printer, or use their profile in your design software, for exact values.
Why does my color say it was adjusted?
Formats like OKLCH, LAB and LCH can describe colors more vivid than a standard screen (sRGB) can show. The converter maps those colors to the closest displayable color, keeping the hue, so that HEX and RGB stay valid.
Does it handle transparency?
Yes. Colors with an alpha value, like #3442d980 or rgb(52 66 217 / 0.5), keep their transparency in every format that supports it. CMYK has no transparency, so it shows the solid color.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. All conversions run in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded or stored.
